We want to know what you think about plans for a new sustainable, environmentally-sensitive community next to the Brislington Park and Ride.
There are 21,000 people on Bristol City Council’s housing waiting list. Along with the council, we are also conscious of the environmental and ecological issues facing the city, from climate change to wildlife. We have carefully designed a masterplan with nature and climate resilience in mind.
The plans are being developed by Bellway Homes, a five star housebuilder committed to delivering the new homes the city needs, on a site which forms part of the city council’s future growth plans.
What we’re doing
- Up to 555 new homes – including approximately 190 affordable homes as well as the opportunity for self-build and community-led homes – where we know people want to live
- Benefitting nature and people through a landscape-led and green infrastructure approach, planting new trees, creating meadows and wetlands
- Prioritising walking, cycling and public transport use, aligning with wider improvements for the A4 Bath Road
- Working with local communities and organisations to deliver tangible benefits, including a new community hub which could include shops, space for community events and hybrid working
- A forward thinking approach to building sustainably with energy-efficient design and new technologies
